I've made this aplication to help people to save money envolving prestretch film on palets.
When we wrapp a pallet on a wrapping machine with a prestretch carriage we expect to have the less film as possible and the best wrapping and stability on the pallet.
The secret of the wrapping machines with prestretch carriage is to prestretch the film reducing the thickness by 2,3 or 4 times the original thickness.
There are 2 major advantage when you prestretch the film:
1) Because you buy stretch film by weight, you put less weight on the pallet.
2) If the prestretch is correctly done, the film changes is atomic structure and mantain it self the thikness without elasticity, and because of that have more stability on the load.
Using wrapping machines is always a combination of inital thickness a machine prestretch value.
No matter those values above, the best final thickness is between 6 and 8 myc. If you achieve those values you are doing a correct use of the machine and film.
